hmmmmmmmmmmm......... do you have your drive backed up?
go through and do as much cleaning as possible, an anti virus dealy-o would be useful [maybe] [eh], run a system check and see if it's a problem with the hardware, and.. well, a complete wipe and reinstallation of the OS would be the easiest way... or just take it to an apple store and have them fix it. aside from that, just do as much investigating as you can and snoop around a few forums to see if there's any known causes or solutions to your problem.

Wait, so you do or you don't want to reinstall OSX? Because backing up all your personal files, reinstalling OSX and putting all your personal files back on the Macbook's HDD would be your best option.

As long as you have all your personal stuff on your 2TB drive, you'll be fine.
